WEEK TEN

We went on one more trip away from home, and also our last and it went a "little bit" better than it did on Mother's Day.  We traveled to Bethesda, Maryland for my Aunt Deborah's 60th Birthday celebration.  It took us 4 hrs to get there (normally a 1.5hr drive).  The hotel we stayed in was beautiful and had tons of room for Colby to play.  That night, Colby stayed with a babysitter while we all went out. Caitlyn wore the prettiest dress and looked adorable.  I did not take any photos but I know Phyllis and others took some during the night.  Caitlyn got a little cranky towards the middle of the event and the music was a little too loud for her ears, so we did not stay long.  The next day we got to spend some time with my Aunt and cousins and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

The rest of the week Caitlyn has been staying awake a lot more.  She is still not nursing very well.  I finally got a call back from the lactation specialist at the hospital who gave me some suggestions.  Either way she is doing great weight wise and my boobs are not sore, so I guess in the end things are good.  I think she will do a lot better feeding once she gets three bottles a day.

I am dreading going back to work.  I realize that I have two weeks left and then all the fun is over.  Maybe it won't be so bad this time around.

WEEK NINE

Caitlyn is officially two months old.  Wow.  She has moved into size two diapers and we are still trucking along with the cloth diapers too.  I feel like I change her every twenty minutes or so.  All I know, I have been doing tons of laundry.  Bill is really going to miss this productive side of me when I go back to work.  Nothing will get done.  Ohh well!!

This week we attended Charlie's 1st Birthday party.  Charlie was a cutie. I wish I got some photos of the boys together.  Caitlyn got to enjoy a beautiful BBQ birthday party.  It was her first one.  She also went strawberry picking for the first time too on Sunday.  Well, she did participate because I held her in the carrier for half of the time.

We also had another big milestone.  She is now officially sleeping in her crib.  The bassinet is gone.  She is still sleeping long stretches at night so I am feeling pretty energetic most of the day.  She is an angel, but Bill believes otherwise.

This weekend we head over the bridge to Bethesda, Maryland for my Aunt Deborah's 60th birthday bash.  My mom, Aunt Phyllis and my Aunt Deborah's kids will all be there.  Unfortunately, great grandma Rhoda didn't feel up to attending after her fall last week.  Caitlyn has the cutest black dress to wear.

WEEK EIGHT

It was my first mother's day with two children and it wasn't as picture perfect as I hoped.  I did get to spend it with the people I love, my husband, Colby and Caitlyn.  Let me explain.  We left Thursday headed towards Gillett, PA in hopes that the children would be asleep for the drive.  Originally the drive takes 5.5 hrs with no children.  As one can imagine, with two children, it took 8 hrs to get to PA.  Colby did not fall asleep until 11 o'clock.  Caitlyn screamed her head off every hour or so.  Either she needed a diaper changed, food or just wanted to get held.  It was a disaster.

We finally got to Bill's mom's house at 1:00 am.  We then had to put all the cribs together, get somewhat settled and try to make the kids go back to sleep.  After all the driving was over, Bill and I were glad to finally be out of the car and ready for some needed sleep.  The next two days were fun.  We went to a bouncy fun center and Colby had a blast jumping on the bouncers.  He got to play outside in a giant yard and see the cows or the "moooss" as he calls them.  Caitlyn got passed around.  His Aunt Deb, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Joani all came to see us too for a visit.  It was great seeing everyone.

We left Sunday (Mother's Day) to go to my grandma's in NJ to spend Mother's day with all my family.  We left at 10:40 and did not arrive until 4:30 pm.  Another long drive that should had only taken us 3.5 hrs without children.  The same story, but this time we stopped 7x instead of 6.   Around 3 o'clock I got a text from my Aunt that my grandma had fallen earlier and was taken to the hospital.  She blacked out and fell while in the bathroom and the employees at the residence found her.  She is okay now, but will be going to rehab.  My Aunt did not want us to visit her while she was in the emergency room.  Our mother's day celebration was a bust and we ended up spending the night at my grandma's alone.  We did stop by Marsha's for a short time and Uncle David visited Sunday night after he left the hospital.

After all was said and done, our visit was short, but extremely tiresome being in the car.  We did make Bill's mom's happy by spending time with her.  We did learn that flying just like long road trips are now out the door until the kids are older than 3.  Sorry people no more traveling for us ;-) (except for Grammy's 90th birthday celebration).

WEEK SEVEN

Zena, Adam and Sophia came to visit us this weekend.  It was amazing watching all the kids play together.  Sophia is adorable.  Colby had a good time playing with Sophia.  Zena was a Caitlyn hog and wanted to hold her the entire time.  Caitlyn got to stroll along the beaches of Kent Park with all the kiddos.  It was super cute watching the kids play in the sand and go into the water.

We also got to see some newborn photos.  It took over 6 weeks to get them and I am extremely disappointed in how they turned out.  There are no close ups of Caitlyn.  If the CD is also bad, then we will be going to Picture People like we did with Colby.

This weekend is mother's day and we are off to PA to visit Bill's mom.  We are going to go back to Jersey on Sunday to see my grandma and the rest of the family.

Also the big excitement of the week:  I booked us on a Royal Caribbean Cruise for March 2015.  I think my mom, grandma and aunt Phyllis will be joining us.  I can't wait.

WEEK SIX

My little Kitty Cat is getting cuter by the day.  She had her 6 week appointment and was a trooper.  Weighing in at 11 lbs 1 ounce and 22.5 inches, Caitlyn is in the 85% for her age.  She also had a slew of vaccinations, four to be exact.  She cried for a little bit and then went to sleep in the car.  We have to go back in the end of June for her next round of shots and another check-up.

Earlier last week, Jess Schutt came by with her daughter Analise to go over the final daycare paperwork.  We are all set to start June 16th.  I am happy to say I am confident that she will be in great hands.  I can foresee that Analise and her will be great friends.

I have also noticed she has been smiling a lot lately.  She has the cutest smile.  One day I will get a photo.  We have also started using clothes diapers again.  I quickly remember how much work they are, but really awesome too.  Yes I have to do more laundry and get my hands dirty, but it is so worth it.

Here is a video of her doing some tummy time action:
